- Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Faculty Position
Description
Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking a dedicated advanced heart failure cardiologist to join our faculty. This dynamic collaborative group that specializes in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary hypertension and cardiac transplantation serves a diverse patient population in New York City. This position is a unique opportunity to be a part of system-wide initiatives that integrate world-class clinical care, innovative research in heart failure, and academic excellence.
The ideal candidate will be a heart failure cardiologist with a strong track record of clinical and academic excellence, including individuals with focus on inpatient and outpatient based heart failure. Candidates must have completed fellowship training in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation and hold board certification or are board eligible in cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure.
Key program highlights include:
- A full spectrum of advanced heart failure services, including transplantation, durable and temporary MCS, advanced imaging, and genomic profiling
- A specialized multi-disciplinary center that offers expertise in diagnosing and treating pulmonary hypertension, provides advanced medical therapies and participates in clinical research (PHA Comprehensive Care Center)
- A dedicated heart failure research institute supporting clinical and translational investigation
- A strong culture of education and mentorship, including an ACGME-accredited heart failure fellowship program and cross-campus teaching conferences
- A major referral center for complex heart failure across New York City and the region
- Multiple active investigative programs, including programmatic leadership of NIH, foundation, and industry focused heart failure research initiatives.
- Strong collaboration with complex electrophysiology, structural heart, advanced imaging, and adult congenital heart disease programs to complement the advanced heart failure program
The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP), and will be primarily based at Weill Cornell (located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan) with opportunities for secondary appointments at affiliated network hospitals (NYP-Lower Manhattan, NYP Queens, NYP Brooklyn Methodist) based on candidate interest and programmatic focus.
Weill Cornell Medicine provides a salary range for this position in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $220 - $600K; the salary listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation, bonuses, and/or benefits. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, internal equity, specialty, training, and hospital/community needs.
