Position: Nurse Practitioner – Hospitalist
Location: FHN Memorial Hospital – Freeport, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time
FHN is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP or FNP) to join our Hospitalist team.
As an Advanced Practice Provider at FHN Memorial Hospital, you will play a vital role in our inpatient care team, blending advanced clinical expertise with compassionate bedside manner to manage patient care from admission to discharge.
The Opportunity
- Compensation Range: $110,000 - $138,00
- 7-on/7-off Schedule: Enjoy a predictable block schedule (7 days on, 7 days off) that maximizes your time off and allows for true work-life balance.
- Clinical Autonomy: Manage your own caseload of patients on the medical-surgical and acute care floors, including performing admissions, daily rounding, and coordinating discharges.
- Collaborative Practice: Work in close partnership with our Board Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalists, who provide support and consultation while respecting your role as a primary provider for your patients
- Impactful Care: Drive high-quality outcomes in a rural setting by focusing on patient safety, readmission prevention, and effective communication with primary care providers and specialists.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or Doctorate (DNP) in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current Board Certification: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) preferred; Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with significant inpatient/hospital experience will be considered.
- Current Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- A passion for providing high-quality, compassionate care based on respect and dignity in a rural healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a cooperative spirit for team-based care.
