BayCare Medical Group, the leading physician-led medical group in the Tampa Bay area, is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Rheumatologist to join our innovative Pharmacy Specialty Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital. This new role represents a unique opportunity to launch and grow a pediatric rheumatology service that will serve as a center of excellence, meet community needs, and ensure high quality care for pediatric patients with rheumatologic conditions. The clinic will be integrated within the existing hospital-based specialty clinic for adult rheumatology and endocrinology, offering a unique opportunity to build a robust and impactful service from the ground up.
About the Pharmacy Specialty Clinic:
The Pharmacy Specialty Clinic is a groundbreaking initiative at BayCare, focused on reducing barriers to care and improving access to free medications, diabetes education, and chronic disease management. The clinic is part of a cost-savings initiative that provides free appointments, medications, counseling, and education to patients, while also expanding access to high-quality specialty care. This opportunity will include working alongside a highly collaborative team that includes an Endocrinologist, Rheumatologists, an APRN, and a clinical pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Panel Growth: Build and manage a patient panel through inpatient consults and follow-up visits, with support from a multidisciplinary team.
- Outpatient Care: Deliver compassionate, evidence-based outpatient care to pediatric patients in a high-volume clinical setting.
- Integrated Collaboration: Partner closely with endocrinologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary care plans.
- Clinic Development: Lead the establishment and expansion of pediatric rheumatology services within the Pharmacy Specialty Clinic.
- Continuity of Care: Support smooth transitions of care for patients aging out of pediatric services into adult rheumatology care within the system.
- Community Engagement: Promote awareness of pediatric rheumatology services through outreach initiatives and education.
Qualifications
- Board Certification or Board Eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain a Florida Medical license.
- New graduates with a passion for clinical innovation and patient-centered care are encouraged to apply.
- Strong commitment to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
