Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring an active Alaska RN license and strong peri-operative experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Surgical Services/Operating Room (OR) unit of a hospital setting
• Care is provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult patients
• Typical shifts are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, or three 12-hour shifts (7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am), with night on-call shifts required
• No floating to other units or departments is required
• Unit consists of 20 rooms with a 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Uses computerized charting with Meditech
• Circulating RN responsible for comprehensive peri-operative care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, pre/post-op nurses, and surgical techs
• Participation in training other nurses may be required
• On-call coverage is required for this position
• Facility provides scrubs as part of the dress code

Requirements

• Active AK RN license is required
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
• Current ACLS certification by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Moderate sedation and PACU experience highly preferred
