Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Perioperative Circulator for an adult surgery operating room position requiring at least one year of acute OR experience and recent Level I Trauma expertise.
Responsibilities
- Work in the adult surgery operating room of a hospital setting
- Patient population consists of adults undergoing operative and invasive procedures
- Required to work 12-hour day shifts, three days per week
- Assignment is 13 weeks in length
- Level I Trauma experience required
- No local candidates accepted; must live outside a 50-mile radius
- Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating perioperative nursing care
- Accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of patient care in the OR
- Individualizes nursing care according to patient health status, age, and procedure performed
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team
- Must comply with hospital dress code and scrubs requirements
- Return to assignment after a contract requires a 6-month separation if 26 weeks have been completed
- Allow at least two weeks for background check and drug screening
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma or multistate compact RN license in hand
- Minimum one (1) year recent experience in an acute operating room environment
- 6 months of recent Level I Trauma OR experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Current AHA-issued Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Knowledge of AORN standards required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed
- Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate nursing care essential
