Position Highlights
Position: Advanced Practice Provider – Cardiac Neuro Intensive Care Unit
Primary Focus: Neurocritical care
Additional Experience: Cardiac ICU experience is welcomed and may be leveraged in the role, but is not required
Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville, Illinois
Part time: average 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Hours: Nights 7pm – 7am, rotating weekends and holidays
No On-Call but may be asked to pick up shifts when needed

Job Description
Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health in the Neuro-Critical Care service line. Under the direction of the collaborating neuro-intensivist physicians, the Advanced Practice Provider delivers high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill neurological patients in the Neuro-ICU and throughout the hospital as needed.
The APP obtains comprehensive histories and performs detailed neurological and systemic physical examinations. Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostic imaging, laboratory studies, and neurophysiologic monitoring; formulating differential diagnoses; and implementing both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment plans. The provider delivers education on therapeutic regimens, procedures, and care expectations, and maintains timely and accurate documentation including progress notes, orders, and procedure notes.
This role provides continuity of care throughout the patient’s hospitalization and collaborates closely with neuro-intensivists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, emergency medicine, rapid response teams, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes. The APP also assists with the development and implementation of clinical standards, pathways, and quality initiatives within the Neuro-Critical Care service line.

The APP practices autonomously within scope and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributes to safety and quality outcomes, supports service line goals, and adheres to all Endeavor Health policies.
Qualifications:
License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
Education: Completion of master’s level program in specialty area
Certification: BLS/ALS certification required
Experience: Prior APN experience preferred; critical care or neurology background strongly preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills Required:
Proficiency in central line placement, arterial line placement, ventilator management, and neurological assessment.
Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in high-acuity environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in neuro-critical care or ICU setting.
Bilingual in Spanish welcome.
Familiarity with EPIC, neuro-monitoring systems, or stroke protocols.
