Overview
Being a home health aide for hospice patients takes a special kind of individual, one who can coordinate daily activities and needs while giving patients an aura of normalcy and comfort in their own homes. Practically, this role involves participating as a member of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group under the direction of a registered nurse/licensed practical nurse as defined by Standards for the Certified Nursing Assistant {(OAR 851-60-000-851-60-800) Nurse Practice Act (10/97)}. On a human level, it's about treating in-home hospice patients with the dignity and compassion they deserve. Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center is the South Metro area's full-service medical center, with the friendly feel of a community hospital and the skill and services of a much larger medical center. Among our specialties: stroke, chest pain, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, cancer care and orthopedic and total joint surgery. Plus, a birth center and breast health center.
Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting licensed nursing personnel in the provision of nursing care. Participates as a member of the health care team under the direction of a licensed nurse as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing Standards and authorized duties for the Certified Nursing Assistant 1 (CNA1), or as defined by the Washington State Department of Health and authorized duties for the Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC). Also assists with clerical functions, housekeeping, and patient transportation throughout the hospital.
This role is only available at Oregon work locations.
Qualifications
Skills/Abilities:
Basic familiarity with computers preferred.
