Overview:
Neurosurgery OR Support- Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Piedmont Athens Hospital
Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider to join an established Neurosurgery practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital. This position is full-time, 5 days a week, including rotations with established APP's for weeknight and weekend call.
Responsibilities:
- In this role you will:
- Provide surgical support for neurosurgical cases
- Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and patient discharges
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinationsand record data in patients medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
- Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
- Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
- Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
- Manage first call on a rotating basis, typically one 3 day weekend in 6 and 2-4 additional weeknight call shifts per month
