Position Overview
North Georgia Nephrology Consultants is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing nephrology practice. This position offers a dynamic work environment across our main office in Athens, GA and satellite clinics in Monroe and Loganville, with additional exposure to hospital-based care under physician supervision.
We welcome both experienced providers and new graduates who are eager to build a career in nephrology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to patients with kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and dialysis management
- Conduct patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Monitor and manage patients undergoing dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis)
- Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care

Requirements
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Georgia (or eligible for licensure)
- Membership in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) required
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous software experience with Epic is preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, especially in nephrology, internal medicine, or related fields
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
Work Schedule
- Part-time applicants will be considered
- Rotating schedule between Athens (main office), Monroe, and Loganville locations
- Occasional hospital coverage (a few hours weekly) with physician supervision
