Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 650+ provider multi-specialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Obstetrician to grow our OB hospitalist group at our Nampa facility. We are also seeking OB/GYN generalists to work in our outpatient clinic. The Saint Alphonsus OB Hospitalist physicians are patient safety coordinators on Labor and Delivery, supporting OB/GYN physicians and Family Medicine physicians, for full 24/7 continuum of care services for the Nampa Family Maternity Center, where there are over 1,000 deliveries annually. This is a full time or part time position with a schedule of: Full-time (1.0 FTE): 154 twelve-hour shifts per year - Part-time (0.5 FTE): 77 twelve-hour shifts per year. No call. EMR/EHR: Epic.
Our family-centered maternity care center features spacious, luxurious LDR suites equipped with jetted tubs and birthing beds, giving mothers and families flexibility to create their preferred birth experience. The hospital provides 24/7 in-house anesthesia coverage and a Level II NICU.
Saint Alphonsus Medical Center - Nampa is currently undergoing a major expansion that will double the hospitals size, adding 254,000 square feet, including a new seven-story tower housing the Labor & Delivery unit. Upon completion (anticipated fall 2028), the unit will grow from 8 to 16 L&D beds and expand the NICU from 4 to 12 beds.

Responsibilities include:
- Obstetrical Triage
- Respond to obstetric emergencies
- Provide consultation for Family Medicine physicians
- Surgical assist and back up for OB/GYN physicians
- Manage labor and deliveries for women whose providers are not available and for women without an assigned physician
- Supervise Family Medicine Residents
- Provide GYN consultation in the emergency department
- Perform urgent GYN surgery
- No on-call or office responsibilities!
Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides intensive care services for neonates 32 weeks and above. The NICU is staffed by Neonatologists and NNPs who cover the 4 bed level II NICU in Nampa as well as our 32 bed Level III NICU in Boise, which provides 24-hour, full-service specialty care, allows families from Boise and the surrounding areas in Idaho and eastern Oregon to receive expert treatment close to home. The NICU's team approach provides an atmosphere for parents and our expert staff to work together to achieve outcomes that exceed national benchmarks. Through special programs developed by the neonatologists and NICU staff, the Saint Alphonsus NICU length-of-stay and complication rates are significantly lower than the national average. Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree; Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency;
- Certification by the ABOG or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment;
- Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC - Nampa;
- Desired attributes: team collaboration, leadership, willingness to develop and adhere to protocols, strong surgical and OB sonography skills.
