Pathology Residency Program Director – Staten Island University Hospital, Northwell Health, New York
Northwell Health and the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital are seeking an AP/CP Certified Pathologist, preferably with subspeciality training in Cytopathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology or GYN Pathology to join our team as Residency Program Director for a complement of ten total residents. Among other responsibilities, the Program Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the AP/CP Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Residency Program at the Hospital and will organize and direct the educational curriculum. The Program Director is responsible for ensuring the program is in compliance with all regulations of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Other key responsibilities of the Program Director will include supervising residents and students while balancing a clinical case load on the Surgical and/or Cytopathology service. Program Director specific duties include; organization of resident curriculum (including didactic schedule), evaluation of both residents and faculty, creation of faculty development modules, modeling best practices for faculty teaching, organization and review of all on-site and off-site rotations, creation and implementation of program policies and procedures, direction of resident scholarly activities, serving on hospital committees and performing administrative functions as required.
