Description

An urgent need has arisen for skilled inpatient pharmacists to support a busy hospital setting in Philadelphia, PA. Opportunities are available for both day and evening shifts, with flexible full-time, contract, or temp-to-hire arrangements. Candidates from the local area or those willing to travel will be considered. This role requires a pharmacist to accurately review and dispense medication orders, ensuring optimal and safe medication therapy for inpatients. Collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the broader healthcare team is essential to support medication safety, clinical evaluation, and discharge planning. Key Responsibilities: Review medication orders for appropriateness regarding drug choice, dosage, frequency, and route Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results prior to dispensing medications Dispense medications in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements Provide drug information and clinical guidance to healthcare team members Supervise pharmacy technicians and students during medication preparation processes Assist with inventory control and management activities Collaborate on continuity of care and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or APPE clinical/hospital setting experience preferred Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Additional Details: Contract position with a signed agreement on file Weekly pay schedule Medical and dental benefits available Opportunity to work within a leading health system in Pennsylvania Open to local and travel pharmacists This position offers a dynamic environment for pharmacists who are committed to excellence in inpatient care and medication safety.
