Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a Level III trauma acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 prior CT travel assignment and ARRT (CT) certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a Radiology/CT department on the 2nd floor
- Level III trauma center
- Department has 3 CT scanners, with 2 typically in use; primary scanner is Siemens with a Toshiba as backup
- Common studies include CVA, chest/abdomen/pelvis, traumas, cardiac-aiding studies, and pediatric and special needs patients; no IR procedures
- Coverage spans the entire hospital including ER and outpatient; no IR procedures
- Radiologist is in-house during the day; overnight (10:00 PM–6:30 AM) coverage is provided via DirectRadiology and remote PACS
- Expected volume of approximately 10–15 scans per shift
- EMR: Epic; PACS: McKesson/Change Healthcare
- 12-hour night shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule: 7:30 PM–7:30 AM (Fri, Sat, Sun) and 8:30 PM–7:30 AM (Wed, Thu, Mon, Tue)
- Weekend shifts are 12 hours; less seasoned staff typically scheduled on weekends
- No call or standby requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience plus at least 1 prior CT travel assignment
- Active ARRT (CT) certification and BLS required
- Experience with Siemens CT equipment strongly preferred; Toshiba experience also a plus
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- IV start ability preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- License required if applicable — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
Additional Information
- Perform CT imaging including CVA studies, chest/abdomen/pelvis scans, trauma imaging, and occasional cardiac-aiding studies across ER, inpatient, and outpatient settings
- Night shift techs work independently from approximately 3:30 AM–6:00 AM; a seasoned tech (Tech 3) is present for most other shifts
- Department is managed by a supervisor Monday–Thursday; a lead tech is present on most shifts
- Up to 3 shifts of department-specific orientation provided
- Caribbean blue scrubs required; scrubs are provided
- Holiday staffing is reduced; RTO expectations will be discussed during the interview
- No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
- Former permanent employees of this facility must have been away for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Personality fit is noted as very important by the hiring team
