Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 2+ years of experience in respiratory and neuro diagnostics for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting — Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, teaching facility with 632 staffed beds
- Respiratory and neuro diagnostics unit serving both pediatric and adult critical care populations
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
- Every third weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- No floating required
- Epic EMR — experience required; training provided during orientation
- Ventilator equipment includes Servo I and Hamilton G5
- Respiratory care scope includes airway management, vent management, BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizer, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, and medication administration
- Neuro diagnostics scope includes O2 saturation monitoring/sleep studies
- Free parking available with badge access to parking garage
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- Pediatric and adult critical care experience required
- ER and adult ICU setting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Active Michigan (MI) state license required by start date — compact license not accepted in MI; license required if applicable
- Proof of high school level education required (regardless of higher education credentials)
- Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and CRTT
- AHA-issued certifications preferred
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Former core staff members must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning — eligibility should be verified prior to consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory and neuro diagnostic care to both pediatric and adult critical care patients
- Orientation includes completion of pre-start modules, which vary by specialty
- Burgundy/wine scrubs required
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates — no radius rule applies
- RTO must be submitted at the time of profile; a maximum of 5 days RTO is allowed per assignment
