Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Sonographer for an acute care hospital radiology/ultrasound department, requiring ARDMS or RVS certification and at least 1 year of experience performing general, OB, and vascular ultrasound studies.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting, Level 3 Trauma Center, in the Radiology - Ultrasound department
- Department has 4 ultrasound rooms/scanners using Toshiba ultrasound units (with 2 new Philips units pending)
- EMR: Epic RIS; PACS: Fuji PACS
- Studies include all general ultrasound, vascular, OB (all three trimesters), and procedures; echo experience is a plus but not required
- Average of 10–15 scans/studies per day depending on hours worked
- Radiologist is on-site three days per week
- 8-hour evening shifts, 12:30 PM–9:00 PM; no self-scheduling
- On-call required after 9:00 PM and on weekends
- Holiday coverage is on-call only
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Sonographer
- Active ARDMS (RDMS, RDCS, or RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification through CCI required; pending certifications are not accepted
- Active BLS certification (AHA)
- License required if applicable; active state or compact (NLC) licensure required — pending licenses will not be accepted
- Proficiency in general ultrasound, OB (all three trimesters), and vascular studies
- Valid driver's license required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- Perform a full range of ultrasound studies including general, vascular, OB, and procedures; echo experience is a plus
- No floating to other areas required
- No IV starts required
- Agency must provide a radiation badge for the traveler
- 12 hours of orientation; candidates must be in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- 2 professional references are required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
